About the Artist

Sarah Edney has been perfecting her technique for over a decade.  In her Edneyville studio she uses a variety of techniques and materials to morph the raw gourds into pieces of art.  Natural dyes, watercolors, acrylics, woodcarving and pyroengraving combine to bring out the character of the gourd.  According to Sarah, "I let the gourd tell me what it wants to be."

Sarah's husband, Wade, grows the gourds on the couple's Edneyville farm.  Each creation is unique and has its own character.
